November 6th, we celebrated the past 74 years of Western Mennonite Church. Pastor Terry’s message was entitled “A Time for Everything” based on Ecclesiastes 3:1-2. A potluck meal and time of sharing followed the worship service. We recognized this is the end of an era, but not the end of the story. We are looking forward to where God leads next.

Today is the First Sunday of Lent. This year’s theme is “Seeking God’s Ways”. The theme comes from Isaiah 55:8, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord.” During Lent we seek to turn away from our selfish ways of thinking and doing, to God’s ways of thinking and doing. We learn the thoughts and ways of God by reflecting on Jesus thoughts and ways in the Gospels.
